Women's International Day: March 8th 2021

Today is Women’s International Day and many are unsure of what exactly it is that we commemorate this day. So we want to share a little more about what it is that we celebrate today and how this applies to the Spring Industry today. Women’s International day is a day to commemorate and generate awareness of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women all over the world.

Many have asked why it is important or necessary to do so, and one important reason is the limited rights women had a hundred years ago. A perfect example of this is the fact that women did not legally have the right to vote until 1920 when on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote. This was a great advancement for women and it took the diligent focus of many women and men fighting for the human rights of women and this is something that we recall today.

Women and the Spring Industry

The spring industry along with other technical industries have seen a transformational change for the best as more women join the workforce and choose these industries. However, there is still a very small ratio of women to men when it comes to these industrial fields and we want to take the time to explain and recognize three of the main areas whose advancements we can celebrate today but that we must continue to encourage and bring awareness to.

Spring Industry Women Engineers

Women Engineers

As you may already know, the spring world is a mathematically demanding industry and it requires the calculations and advance observations that engineers provide. Sadly only 13% of engineers are women and this number is much smaller when it comes to spring engineers. At Acxess Spring we are lucky to have a team of spring engineers that are an important part of our spring fabrication process. Our team includes talented women in this area and we encourage more women to learn and specialize in this field.

Spring Industry Women Directives

Women in Directive Positions

Technical trade industries tend to be among the fields where male directive roles predominate. Because the Spring Industry is a very old industry that is not as popular in colleges or formal schooling, rather it is a trade that is normally handed down from generation to generation, it is not always common to see women directives. However, in the past years there has been great advancements in this and more and more women are holding leading roles in spring companies. We are proud to be part of the growing companies that support these advancements and women of the highest aptitude in our main directive positions.

Spring Industry Women Manufacturers

Women in Manufacturing

Women make up almost half of the U.S. labor force, however only 29 percent work in manufacturing. Studies show that this is mostly due to the disencouragement of women in these positions by the industries themselves and the difficulties to grow in a male-predominant environment. At Acxess Spring we encourage women to learn and grow in these fields and do not discriminate against women who want to learn or be mentored in this industry to grow their manufacturing abilities. So if you or any woman you know would like to apply to work in the spring manufacturing world and learn a very demanding but little known trade, you can contact us today at: (951) 276-2777

Acxess Spring is Commited to Positive Change for Women

Although there have been many clear advancements this day is still relevant and important because there are still many practices in all countries that hinder the advancements and success of women in many areas and fields. That is why at Acxess Spring we are actively working to change this and encourage women to continue to pursue their passion and find the right mentorship. If you would like to get involved and learn more about the Spring Industry and its opportunities for women be sure to contact us at: contact@acxesspring.com
